Welcome to Guide on the Side!

This blog is about teaching and learning in higher ed… and maybe some other topics that come up along the way…  I find it’s important for me to write about my teaching.  Writing helps me to think more carefully about what I’m doing beforehand and reflect more about each class, week, unit, and term.  It leads me to think about and observe my students more intentionally.

I’m hopeful that this will be a place that goes beyond me sharing my thoughts, to become a community of teachers, scholars and learners. I welcome your comments and feedback.  We have much to learn from and with each other.
